Friends of Hiratsuka are seeking students for the 2026 Lawrence - Hiratsuka trip!
The Lawrence - Hiratsuka Sister City Program is now accepting applications for their 2026 student exchange trip to our beautiful beach-side sister city of Hiratsuka Japan! Any 7th-12th graders attending public, private or homeschool in Douglas County are eligible! The trip will last for 10 days between June 26th and July 5th 2026. The estimated cost is between $3,200-$3,500 per student, with a monthly payment plan available as well as scholarship opportunities. The students will stay with a Japanese host family, be immersed in daily life in Japan and attend Hiratsuka’s famous Tanabata Festival!
